Tour Route

    • How It Works

    • Where to Start

    • Starting Point 1-Library

    • Starting Point 2-Famiy Bedrooms

    • Starting Point 3-Ballroom

    • Starting Point 4-Kitchen

    • Starting Point 5-Laundry Room

    • Starting Point 6-Grounds

How the Tour Route Works

Up to six different groups start at up to six different places on the property. Groups will spend approximately ten minutes in each area (based on overall amount of time allowed for visit, divided by six). Refer to the tour "cheat sheet" for ideas on what topics to address. Make sure to cover technology issues wherever possible. If another tour group comes up on you, gracefully conclude your remarks for that area and move on to the next. If you come upon another group, stall until they conclude their remarks.

Where to Start

Each tour group starts in a different part of the house or grounds, and then moves about the property in a predetermined order. This prevents groups from running into each other. Remember:

bullet

If there are six groups, start one in all six locations

bullet

If there are five groups, start one everywhere except the basement

bullet

If there are four groups, start one everywhere except the basement and second floor

bullet

If there are three groups, start one in the library, one on the third floor and one on the grounds

bulletIf there are two groups, start one in the library and one on the third floor.

Starting points are as follows:

bullet

#1 = First Floor Library

bullet

#2 = Second Floor Family Bedrooms

bullet

#3 = Third Floor Ballroom

bullet

#4 = First Floor Kitchen

bullet

#5 = Basement Laundry Room

bullet

#6 = Outside Grounds

If Group A starts in the library, it will finish up on the grounds. Group B might start in the Kitchen and finish up on the Third Floor. Though the starting points are different, tour information is the same for every group, and everyone gets to see everything at some point during the tour.

In conjunction with the "cheat sheet," the  floor plans and the grounds map, use the following to prepare for the tour.
