Trail End

An annual tradition for over thirty years, the Holiday Open House is sponsored by the Trail End Guilds, Inc., and is always held the first full weekend of December. The event features live entertainment (see schedule below) and holiday decorations throughout the spectacular 1913 Kendrick Mansion.

Open House hours are always from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the first Friday, Saturday and Sunday of December. Admission is two dollars for adults. Children are admitted at no charge, but must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Our bevy of musical guests begin their performances at 4:00 and continue through 7:00:

Friday, December 6

 - Sam Hoffman (keyboard) and Stephanie Zukowski (vocalist)

5:00 - Cathy Storm (historic reed organ)

6:00 - Cathy Storm (keyboard) and Steve Baskin (vocals & guitar)

Saturday, December 7

- Patchwork Singers (vocal group)
Sunday, December 8

- Bells of the Bighorns (handbell choir)

- Bells of the Bighorns (handbell choir)

- Juliet’s Muse (instrumental group)

Please note: Both performances of the Bells of the Bighorns are full performances. If you attend the first one, please plan to leave in order to make room for those wishing to attend the second performance.

One of the most popular aspects of Trail End's Holiday Open House over the past several years has been the presence of our very own Father Christmas. The Big Man in Red will be at the mansion throughout the open house to listen to Christmas wishes from children of all ages.

Either before or after listening to the music or visiting with Father Christmas, step into the Kitchen to enjoy some of our legendary Figgy Pudding and Hot Cider (food and drink are not allowed in any other part of the house).

The lights! The greenery! The poinsettias! The Kendrick Mansion was just made for Christmas! With seven nine-foot trees decorated to the hilt and fanciful decorations throughout, Trail End is truly a holiday wonderland.

While volunteering at the Holiday Open House, Trail End's TechnoPast students recorded videos designed to answer three of our most persistent questions:

What is the Holiday Open House?

Who is Father Christmas?

What is Figgy Pudding?

The 2019 Open House is scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, December 6, 7 & 8. See below for additional information.
