State Historic Site

Trail End

With four acres of park-like grounds, Trail End is a wonderful venue for both public and private events. Because we are a state-owned facility, however, we have a number of restrictions and guidelines which must be followed. You can download a printer-friendly version of the guidelines here, or you can go to our Event Guidelines page on this website.

All weddings and large parties (reunions, anniversaries, etc.) must be scheduled in advance. Unfortunately, reservations cannot be made online at this time. Please phone 307-674-4589 to speak to a Trail End staff member about what dates might be available.

After confirming that your chosen date is available, please download the Event Reservation Form, complete it in its entirety (including signature), and return it to Trail End along with any required fees. Please do not send payment for an event until you have confirmed it by phone or in person with Trail End personnel.

Any events involving professional caterers, commercial vendors or proposed alcohol consumption will require additional paperwork and fees. Requests made in writing must be approved well in advance by personnel of the Cheyenne office of Wyoming State Parks & Historic Sites, representatives of the Attorney General's office and/or the Wyoming State Parks & Cultural Resources Commission.

Both amateur and professional photographers are asked to read our Photography Guidelines, newly implemented in 2015. Click here for a printer-friendly version.

If you would like to bring your school group to the Trail End grounds for an outdoor event, be it sledding on the hill, searching for Geocache markers or conducting a drawing class, please feel free to do so. We would ask that you either email or phone to let staff know you are coming (just in case work is going on) and how many students will be accompanying you (Trail End gets to include grounds use in the site's annual visitation figures).
