Trail End has long been a favorite spot for bird watchers. Our wide variety of trees - with their equally wide variety of fruit, nuts, flowers and seeds - attract everything from Bald Eagles to Rufous Hummingbirds. The following is a list of birds seen on the site between 1970 and 2015. Some have only been seen a time or two (look for the *), others are migratory birds passing overhead (**), but all of them contribute to Trail End's wonderful birding potential.
Photographs of underlined species are included in the accompanying slide show. All were photographed at or within sight of Trail End. Unless otherwise noted, the photographs were taken by longtime Trail End groundskeeper Rodney Adams.
If you think we have misidentified a bird species, let us know.
